An accomplished vocalist and Indian Classical Music educator of the young generation, Sameer has made a mark on the national and international community of Indian Classical Music. He is blessed with a mellifluous voice that has been sculpted with two decades of rigorous training. Sameer brings introspective elegance, complex improvisation and emotional content in every performance. Reviewers have hailed his music as soul-stirring and divine. Sameer's students have matured into performing artists, earning praise for their solo performances throughout Texas.
As a child prodigy, Sameer received the National Cultural Talent Scholarship and several dozen awards in India. All India Radio and National Television aired his performances. He received blessings from music stalwarts such as Chhote Gandharva, Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Shri Sudhir Phadke, Smt. Saraswati Rane and Prabhakar Karekar.
Sameer moved to USA in 2001 for graduate studies (he has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin). Since then he has performed extensively in the United States. He has been invited to conduct lecture demonstrations by Central Texas organizations such as ICMCA, SPICMACAY and Naadasudha. He has accompanied distinguished artists like Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Dr. Ram Deshpande, Vidyadhar Vyas and Warren Senders in concert.
Over the last decade, Sameer has taught over fifty students in the Austin/Round Rock area. At every level, Sameer's experience as a performer brings depth and richness to his teaching. His students have won prizes at several competitions and inspired more music enthusiasts to practice this art form in USA.
